I don't like those gold items. Although someone may have them for bragging rights, for practical use, they are fairly worthless.
I play a heal or prot monk in pvp, and in my experience, the req 12 totally takes away from the damage aspect of the wand (and yes, we do wand sometimes..), and I'd rather use an HoD sword w/ a 20% enchanting, as that is much better for a prot monk. Also, a 20/20 prot icon is far more superior than the offhand you have posted.
The 10/10 holy rod is nice, but again, I would have difficulty choosing it compared to an HoD, and again, the offhand is inferior compared to a collector's 20/20.
I know the arguments for value, but to me personally, value is also derived in how useful an item is. Although it may be nice to have those near perfect/perfect golds, I can't honestly say that I'd use them. Maybe a player with less stringent requirements would enjoy them.
